Sonam is a master's student at the University at Buffalo. His research interests broadly focus on hydrologic systems and the impacts of human activities and climate change on water resources. His current work involves computational hydrology and the application of modeling and data-driven approaches to understand changes in regulated river systems, with particular interest in reservoir operations and river thermal regimes. Before joining the University at Buffalo, he worked as an engineer with the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation in Nepal, contributing to water resources and irrigation projects. He holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Pulchowk Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Outside of academics, he enjoys trekking, spending time in the mountains, playing football, and exploring new places.
